The Tamas Society (TS) has been touching lives of more than 2000 people in rural and urban India. TS has been working since 2009 with the mission and vision to empower deprived women, children, young people and communities in urban and rural areas through remedial education for children; vocational training for women and girls through promotion of self-help groups; and skill development /vocational training for youths. The organization also believes in the motto “Health for All” and therefore, supports health camps and other health-related activities in Kolkata and other districts of West Bengal.

Till now, the organization has mobilized more than 500 children who are either school dropouts or never been to school through bridge course and thereby mainstreaming them to formal education.

The livelihood project of Tamas Society has carved a niche for itself by providing sustainable livelihood to more than 100 women in Kheadaha Gram Panchayat I and II of South 24 Parganas District. In Tamas Society, we not only provide need-based training to women and youth groups but also ensure 100 percent placement facilities. This project is being supported by TATA International, Germany.
